With simply six days to go till the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Video games, the organising committee held a cultural occasion “Rediscover Tohoku – MOCCO’s Journey from Tohoku to Tokyo” at a park in Tokyo.
The huge animated set up is the centrepiece of the Tokyo 2020 Nippon Pageant, which is an official cultural program of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Video games and is being held underneath the theme of “The Reconstruction of Tohoku”.
MOCCO made the primary look on fifteenth Could in Iwate prefecture after which toured throughout three prefectures within the Tohoku area earlier than arriving in Tokyo, the ultimate vacation spot of the journey.
MOCCO is the brainchild of kids from the earthquake and tsunami devastated Tohoku area, the world most affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
Its title was given by screenwriter Kankuro Kudo, who was impressed by “MOCCO’s Story,” a story written by Japanese comic and author Naoki Matayoshi. AP
